Nail of the Day

I am leaving for Jamaica in about 3 hours....and I am still not tired, so I figured I'd do a quick post before I leave!

My NOTD: Essie Mint Candy Apple and Essie Set in Stones

I am extra excited about my nails right now. I never get to paint my nails fun colors (because of my job....boo).

This is 2 coats of Mint Candy Apple and about 3 to 4 coats of Set in Stones on my accent nail.

The bright color is perfect for a tropical vacation!

What nail polish are you currently wearing?

My new favorite shoes: A style post

So over the weekend (well....my weekend, Monday and Tuesday) I may or may not have made a new shoe purchase.

I remember when Toms first came out. "Those are so ugly" I thought to myself. "Why are people paying $50 for these ugly, terribly made shoes?"

Three pairs later.....needless to say I definitely LOVE Toms now.

First of all, they are so comfy! They are light and perfect to wear in the Florida heat when you feel like giving the sandals a rest.

This particular pair is extra special- no one else in the world has them! These are hand painted Toms! Curl by Sammy Duvall in Downtown Disney is fairly close to me, and they do custom painted Toms. Anything your mind can think of they will paint on the shoes. I've been wanting to get a special pair done for a while, but I had no idea what I wanted.

Finally I decided on my favorite flower, Lilies.

The right shoe has one large Lily....

...while the left shoe has 2 Lilies.

I love each side isn't identical. It makes it more unique. Together, they are the perfect pair of shoes!

What is your latest shoe obsession? These are definitely my favorite pair at the moment. I'm in love with them. I can tell they are going to get a lot of use!

Also, if you don't have a store around you that does custom Toms, try Etsy!

What's in my travel makeup bag?

Hey everyone!

In less than a week, I will be going on a 5 day vacation to Jamaica! WOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Can you tell I'm just a little excited?!

I thought I'd share what I will be bringing with me on this trip. :)

I got an adorable makeup bag from Forever21 for I want to say somewhere around $4.

Cute right? Exactly my style and perfect to hold all of this!

On to the products!

MAC paint pot in Bare Study
This is my absolute favorite eyeshadow base. My shadows never crease when I wear this and it looks great! I'm also bringing this because it looks awesome by itself, so it's perfect for those days when I just feel like slapping one color on and running out the door.

Dior highlighting powder in Amber Diamond
If I had to choose my favorite makeup item of all time, this would be it. It is absolutely stunning...stunning. The powder is finely milled, so the shimmer is not chunky at all. It looks beautiful on the skin. This is great for travel, as it works as an eyeshadow too! One of my go to eyeshadow looks is created using this powder.

Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeliner in Nude
I hate using dark eyeliner in my water line, I feel like I have small eyes to begin with and black eyeliner just closes off my eyes and makes them look smaller. I will try anything to make my eyes look bigger, so I use this everyday to get rid of the redness and open my eyes up.

Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeliner in Turquoise
Just incase I feel like a pop of color. :)

MAC Technakohl eyeliner in Seasonally Spicy
I love using this eyeliner on my lid. A great color, and it glides on super smoothly.

L'oréal super slim liquid liner in Black
A great liquid liner for those days when I feel a little more...glam.

Urban Decay Naked Basics palette
I think I'll be taking this with me....I could just use the Dior powder, but this is so small so why not take this too? Just incase I feel like using some matte shadows. :)

Benefit Fake Up concealer in light
I just bought this concealer so I'm still testing it out. It's pretty good so far, and very easy to use-making it perfect to take on vacation! I also have a very dry under eye area at the moment and I need something hydrating and light.

MAC blotting powder
I use this to set my concealer, works like a charm.

Laura Mercier blush in Lush Nectarine
The perfect everyday blush. SUPER pigmented....seriously, all I need to do it tap my brush in this and it's more than enough.

NYC smooth skin bronzer in Sunny
Great bronzer for my fair skin. Warms up my face just the right amount.

Maybelline color whisper lipstick in Coral Ambition and Rose of Attraction
I'm not into lip products....like, at all. These color whispers are great for people who are still very afraid of lip color. The colors are very sheer and the formula is moisturizing, so it just feels like you're wearing a balm.

L'oréal shocking extensions mascara in Blackest Black
My very favorite mascara. I ran out recently and just bought a brand new tube, hence it still being in it's packaging. :)

Benefit Gimme Brow in light
I just got this product and OH MY GOODNESS it is fabulous. My brows are sparse and light and I've been obsessed with finding the perfect brow products to make them look fuller and just...nicer (read my post all about my brows here!). Gimme Brow volumizes my brows and they just look amazing. No other way to explain it. I love it.

I have just ordered the Sigma Mr. Bunny travel brush kit!! If that comes in time for my vacation then I will be bringing all the brushes in that kit.

I didn't get the kit in yet, so I got this picture from Sigmabeauty.com.

If not then I will be bringing these brushes....

Two MAC 229SH brushes (one for blush and one for bronzer)
BH Cosmetics fluffy brush
Sigma pencil brush
Spoolie brush
Urban Decay flat eyeshadow brush
Sigma tapered crease brush
and also my Tarte eyelash curler

I think this is a pretty good mix of products to bring on vacation! What do you think? What are some of your must haves to bring on vacation?

Mini Haul!

Hey everyone!!

I did a little bit of online shopping and I got a few things from Sephora! I thought it would be fun to share what I picked up :)

First thing I got is the Benefit High Brow highlighting pencil.

This is a pencil that you use to highlight your brow bone and inner corners of the eyes. It is a really nice matte pink toned pencil.

I've used it a few times already and I love it! It is the perfect highlight for my brow bone. It's very creamy and super easy to blend. Highlighting my brow bone is a step I often forget, but this pencil makes it easy for me to remember! I don't really know why the pencil makes it easy for me to remeber....maybe because I'm excited to use a new product.

This product is expensive for what it is ($20 at Sephora) so I will be looking for a good drugstore alternative. Although I like this pencil very much, if I find a cheaper alternative I probably won't repurchase it.

Next thing I got is the Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel in Blonde.

I bought this because I was looking for something to make my eye brows darker and more noticeable when I don't have time to fill them in with powder. I've used it twice so far, and it does exactly what I wanted it to do!

I do have to say that the wand is bigger than I expected, and I feel that the product gets slightly outside of my eye brows and I have to clean it up a bit. That doesn't stop me from loving it though!

I did a whole post about this product and other products I use for my eye brows. Click here to see it!

My birthday was 3 weeks ago and since I'm enrolled in Sephora's rewards program, I got a free birthday gift! Yay!

I had a few options, but I chose the Fresh Sugar mini lip duo. I've been wanting to try this stuff for a while now.

Please excuse my naked nails :)

The little kit comes with two of the lip balms, the mini Sugar lip treatment with SPF 15 and the mini Sugar Rosé tinted lip treatment with SPF 15.

I've heard amazing things about this lip balm but I've always been hesitant to try because of its big price tag ($25 for a lip balm? What?!). I tried the clear one twice so far, and I like my Nivea minty lip balm that I carry around with me better. This Fresh Sugar one is nothing special. I am SO GLAD I got it for free.

I stopped off at Walgreens and picked up one thing, the Maybelline gel eyeliner in Espresso.

I own this gel liner already in black and I like it very much, so I decided to pick up the brown one. It even comes with a little brush!

I also went on Amazon.com and got two books that I am EXTREMELY excited about!!!

I got these two Lauren Conrad books! I can not wait to read them. I've skimmed through them already and they look awesome.

So that's all for my little haul!

Nivea Lip Butter: A review

Hey everyone!!

I've always had problems finding a good, hydrating lip balm....until I found this one!

The Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla and Macadamia Kiss is definitely my favorite lip balm ever! I use it every night before I go to bed and I wake up with smooth, moisturized lips.

The lip butter is packaged in a tin that is sturdy and doesn't seem like it would open up easily if you were to throw it in your bag. Since it does come in a pot, I don't like to use it while I'm out and about. Like I said above, I use this every night before I go to sleep.

This lip butter comes in 4 scents or "flavors"; Vanilla and Macadamia Kiss, Caramel Kiss, Raspberry Rosé Kiss, and Smooth Kiss.

Now onto why I was SO HAPPY this product worked for me.

For some reason, my lips DO NOT react well to a bunch of different lip products.

For example:

-Blistex
-Burts Bees
-Carmex

ALL of these made my lips break out.

The worst time was when I bought a MAC lip conditioner. I used it for a few days and loved it! I loved the way it smelled and felt on my lips. All of a sudden I woke up with bumps all over my lips. Needless to say, I never used that again.

Lucky for me, the Nivea lip butter in Vanilla and Macadamia Kiss smells exactly like the MAC one! I was so happy when I first used it.

So, if you're looking for a good MAC lip conditioner dupe, here it is! It smells amazing and moisturizes my lips. The best part? My lips don't break out from it!!

Have you used any of the new Nivea Lip Butters yet? Which one is your favorite!

Check out the Nivea lip butters here!

See you next time! :)
